Healing from Mother Earth

One of Earth’s greatest gifts to us is Essential Oils, the life essence of plants and trees.  Since biblical times, these oils have been used for physical, emotional and spiritual healing.

Through extensive training with Nayana Morag (www.essentialanimals.com) and others I have learned how these precious oils can benefit our animals.

With a great deal of scientific evidence, essential oils are being used more and more for emotional and physical healing of people and animals.  They are especially effective assisting with behavioral issues brought on by fear, grief or sadness.  Other uses include hot spots on dogs, arthritis, sore muscles, wound care and fungal skin problems.  Many oils are highly anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-infectious working where antibiotics no longer do.

As a Certified Animal Aromatherapist (from the School of Essential Balance, England), I have been trained to use kinesiology (muscle testing) along with the animal’s history and concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to choose the oil(s) that will best address the specific energetic imbalance underlying the issue.   In western medicine, it is typical to look at the symptom and treat it rather than looking at the whole picture and what caused the symptom to emerge.  TCM and the process I use looks at both the symptom and the underlying imbalance to effect change and create holistic wellness.

Once selected, the oils are offered to the animal to allow the animal to choose.  They are not applied without permission from the animal.  Much evidence has shown that animals have the inate ability to select that which is best for them.  Believe me, they are very clear about what they want and don’t want!   It is also important to understand that essential oils offered to animals should be diluted first.  The animals' sense of smell and sensitivity is so strong that to put oils on them without diluting is inconsiderate, unnecessary and a waste of money!

The above photos are of Miami, an 18 year old quarter horse whose sarcoid disappeared after Wendy used essential oils on him.  The area still has discolored hair but the sarcoid is gone.

Nutritional Testing

In addition to learning where your animal is out of balance, I can also use kinesiology to test for nutritional issues.  Since diet is such an important part of our animals health, overall wellness is only as good as the food you are feeding.  Oftentimes even very good food might not be the right food for a particular animal.  Allergies and general intolerances can be found with the kinesiology and diet recommendations are made.  This is an additional service to the aromatherapy consult and can be done at the same time.

Some clients share their experiences......

"I would like to order more Geranium hydrosol..(result of consultation with Wendy).  Joe Joe looks like a million dollars, is eating really good and even getting into mischief every now and then.  Pretty good for a 14 year old who has had major illness throughout his whole life so I don't want to stop something that really seems to be working for him."  AR, WI

"With regard to Lightning (leased horse),  I used the oils you suggested over the two days we were together this week. He had a huge long time in coming, and I mean huge, release from the neck pain ... he actually screamed when it finally came. Frightened me, but I knew it was there."  LH, WI

"Just an update on Ralph. He seems to be doing quite well. Since you were here he has only gotten us up in the middle of the night once and has had no accidents. After that one incident, I offered him the aromas again and he did show some interest. He now appears back to his old self in all his habits. He has stopped drinking lots of water and is again able to hold his trips outside for incredible spans."  BC, WI

"Simba is doing really, really well.  We've not had any problems with him leaking or waking up with puddles.  Thank you very much.  I'm sure you'll be hearing from me again for animal sessions."  (two days after aromatherapy consultation.)  TS, WI

"Wanted to let you know it was a fatty tumor and growing quickly like you said.  And the oils were like a miracle!  The hot spot was almost gone the next day and all the redness is gone from the incision.  Remmy is much more comfortable now."  PA, WI

For essential oil help, contact me by phone or email to set up a phone consult to complete a history form.  You will also need to mail me a hair sample from your animal.  From the hair and information I will do the oil selection.  Your animal does not need to be with me.  Once the oils are selected I can mail the oils to you or we can meet in person to offer the oils.

Aromatherapy is not an alternative to veterinary medicine and is best
used as part of a holistic health care program.
